Liz Gardner

This changed my life...

I have been so happy with the way a reverse mortgage has changed my life that I’d like to share my personal experience with you.

My name is Liz Gardner and I live in Bucks County. Most of us had not anticipated the conditions resulting in increased taxes, fuel costs and health care and I found it difficult to meet all these expenses let alone enjoy a few luxuries in retirement.

The peace of mind that comes with knowing I can stay in my home as long as I want while receiving monthly checks is absolutely priceless. The anxiety has been replaced with the comfort of knowing I am financially secure and can even travel to visit my children who were so supportive of me in taking the reverse mortgage.

I wasn’t at all familiar with this product and was skeptical at first but Corinna Tini at (Princeton Mortgage) 1st Senior Home Protection was so patient and gave me all the assistance I needed to understand how this would improve the quality of my life.

Sincerely, Liz Gardner

Mrs. Herald
Montgomery County, PA

When Corinna met Mrs. Herald she was 88 and had been widowed for almost 20 years and was within 4 weeks of losing her home to a sheriff’s sale. She was in denial and had not really addressed any of the correspondence from the mortgage company. Upon unraveling the situation, Corinna Tini, immediately contacted the mortgage company for clarification, had Mrs. Herald speak to her attorney to file for an extension and started the paperwork for a reverse mortgage.

Mr. & Mrs. Herald had operated a welding business in Philadelphia for many years. After Mr. Herald passed away, Mrs. Herald worked to keep the business going. Although she was only familiar with the back end of the operation, she was intent on providing work for her long term employees. Shortly thereafter, the building was severely vandalized; resulting in a shut down so necessary repairs could be made. Mrs. Herald took out a mortgage on her home to provide the cash needed to sustain the business and pay her employees during the hiatus. Ultimately she had to close the business but was saddled with a $160,000 mortgage on her $245,000 home.

Corinna was able to provide the reverse mortgage for Mrs. Herald and they settled in three weeks.

Mrs. Binkowski
Montgomery County, PA

My husband and I are in our 80’s and have only our Social Security income to live on. We’ve lived in our home for over 47 years and have many good friends and neighbors here. I have diabetes and my husband suffers from Alzheimers; resulting in high medical costs. Leaving our home and friends due to the squeeze of finances would be both devastating and disorienting, not only to us but to BJ, our beloved dog.

Although we are fortunate to have children who would gladly help us, we felt that a reverse mortgage would allow us to remain independent while giving us the financial peace of mind we so wanted.

With the reverse mortgage in place we were able to make much needed home improvements. The comfort that comes with knowing that we can cover expenses beyond our Social Security income is priceless and it feels good to say “we took care of our home for 47 years and now it is taking care of us.”

Mrs. Hoffman
Bucks County, PA

At age 75 Mrs. Hoffman was widowed and facing foreclosure when she came to us. Corinna Tini met with her to find that she was raising a granddaughter who was a special needs student. Mrs. Hoffman had fallen behind in her bills and had recently stopped taking her heart medication in order to provide food for her granddaughter.

The $230,000 residence was all that Mrs. Hoffman had and it proved to be a lifesaver. Corinna set up the reverse mortgage which not only staved off foreclosure but provided a stream of income to help cover living expenses.

Shortly after settlement, Mrs. Hoffman was hospitalized due to complications from stopping her heart medication. Fortunately, with the medical and financial assistance in place, Mrs. Hoffman is now able to care for herself and her granddaughter.

Mr. & Mrs. Schwabe
Montgomery County, PA

When Corinna Tini met with the Schwabes there was water coming through their ceiling. Mrs. Schwabe was 78 and her husband 80. Their home, valued at $175,000 was free of any liens but they did not have the money to make much needed repairs.

The reverse mortgage was the perfect financial tool to provide the Schwabes with a safe and secure home; allowing them to age in place. However, in order to satisfy the mortgage requirements, certain repairs needed to be completed in advance.

Corinna was able to find contractors who agreed to do the work and accept payment after the settlement. The Schwabes’s now have the security of knowing that they can remain in their home as long as they want and that they can fund any work now or in the future that their home may need.

Ms. Miller

The stress of juggling taxes, medical bills, and household expenses can take a physical toll on seniors. In my case I was suffering from hypertension, elevated cholesterol and high blood sugar. However, the day after I settled on the reverse mortgage I attended my regular check-up with my physician. He was amazed that my blood pressure was in the normal range and asked what I was doing differently. I told him I had taken out a reverse mortgage which took the weight of the world off my shoulders.

More recently, I had my annual blood work done. In 20 years my doctor has never called me directly but this time he was so overwhelmed with the results and overall improvement in my health he just had to know why. In addition to my blood pressure, which remains low, my cholesterol and blood sugar levels are also significantly lower. Just knowing I have the financial where-with-all to handle my living expenses is just what the doctor ordered.

I now feel like I did when I was younger!

Mr. Gerold
Bucks County, PA
I spent my adult life at my home in beautiful Bucks County Pa. My wife, a captivating woman, was an accomplished Broadway, television, and Hollywood actress Together we ran an outdoor theater at our lovely home nestled in the woods. Many talented local actors and actresses spent countless hours learning their craft on our home stage. We also ran the largest theatrical theatre costume company in the country. Four years ago I was struggling to juggle my finances each month. I don’t think that any of us (seniors) would have believed anyone if they told us what our property taxes were going to be in the future at the time when we purchased our home. I was in turmoil as I wasn’t sure if I would be able to live out my life in the home that had so many wonderful memories for me. It was at that time that I turned to Corinna Tini and she educated me about the Reverse Mortgage program and the process. I opted to put a Reverse Mortgage in place. That decision has enabled me to stay in my home, not worry each month how I will pay the bill’s, and almost as important take the bus into NY City a few times a year to see a Broadway play and enjoy a much better bottle of wine after the show. I am so thankful that this program is available; it allowed me to tap into my own funds and be able to live my life the way that I choose, not stuck in a home somewhere staring at four walls. I also wound up with a wonderful friend in the process, Corinna stops by often and I look forward to our chats and the time we spend together.

The Radlow’s
Bucks County, PA
We lived in our home in Bucks County Pa in between the beautiful Delaware River and the canal for 50 years. In the last five years (that we were there) we started struggling to pay our high property taxes and there were things that needed repair. We needed a new heater and didn’t have the funds to replace the old one. We began to charge items on our credit cards because there just wasn’t enough money each month to pay the bills. A new neighbor moved in next to us and built a huge home which pretty much destroyed our view. Our situation was uncomfortable and caused us many sleepless nights. It was then that we met with Corinna Tini to discuss our options. Corinna went through our budget and helped us to realize that the best course for us to take was to sell this home and downsize to a smaller place, that we could easier care for and one that would have lower property taxes. Corinna found a wonderful realtor for us and we found an adorable little cape cod not too far away. We then did a Reverse Mortgage on our new home so that we could be payment free for life. We are so thrilled with the advice and guidance that Corinna offered us. We no longer worry about how we are going to make our payments each month. We absolutely adore our new home and have lovely neighbors. It was a perfect choice for the two of us. We can now sleep easily at night knowing that this is where we are going to live out our lives.
